    • A lecture was delivered on the bus location system in Seoul (a sales campaign to foreign countries reportedly going on), the history of subway extension and disaster prevention measures.

  • Proceedings of the General Meeting:
    • About the next AICF Chairman, an agreement has been reached on Korea’s taking the position. The time of inauguration will be decided at a small meeting to be held this fall in Singapore sometime between September and November (but not between September 20 and October 10). The meeting will be scheduled to suit all the countries’ convenience. The next AICF General Meeting is most likely to be held in Tokyo on April 3, 2015, though the schedule requires further adjustment.
    • A proposal was made of asking China to participate in the AICF through Korea.
    • Singapore appreciated the AICF website as useful, for there is no other website reporting the recent status of CEPAS.

  • With about 30 people present, the following five subjects were discussed:
    1. Feasibility Study of My Number Card (Ohyama, AICF chairman and professor)
    2. Discussion Paper on Japanese Hospitality Referencing the ETA International Standard (Takezawa)
    3. Free-Flow, Multi-Lane Smart Tolling System (Na kyung, Nam, Seoul Women’s University)
    4. Singapore Update 2014, Use of Elliptic Curve Crypto (ECC) for Next Generation CEPAS (Lin Yih, DART, Singapore)
    5. Status and Trend of Transportation Card Industry in Korea (Min-Chul Jun, KOTCIA)
(4) Topics
  • Traffic IC cards in Korea
    • Korea has many traffic IC card systems in operation. There was once no compatibility between them, but in recent years, more and more railway companies have started mutual operation for compatibility of their IC cards. Moreover, the “All Pass” card, to be launched this year, will be applicable to all the means of transportation in the country.
    • Some traffic IC cards are issued as a combination card with one chip to also serve as, for example, a bank card or a credit card.
